We're looking for a skilled Cloud Engineer with experience in Cloud technologies to collaborate with our Data Platforms Engineering team on advancing our Enterprise Data Lakehouse platform. If you're passionate about developing scalable data solutions and automating infrastructure, this role is for you. In this role, you'll work in the Data Platforms Engineering team, utilising cutting-edge Cloud technology within Microsoft Azure to enhance our Enterprise Data Lakehouse platform. Using tools such as Databricks, Python, and Terraform, you'll design and develop key platform functionality and data analytics solutions. Expect a hands-on experience where you'll contribute significantly to our daily operations, making a tangible impact with your expertise.
Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Building robust code to underpin our platforms and implementing ETL processes to streamline data movement.
- Optimising data pipelines to enhance the performance of reporting tools and dashboards.
- Automating routine data processes, reducing manual effort and enhancing overall efficiency.
- Ensuring data security and compliance standards are upheld.
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation across all development efforts.
As a minimum you will have:
- Proficiency in DevOps principles and tools for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD).
- Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Expertise in Python programming for data manipulation, automation, and tool development.
- Understanding of modern development practices – Agile.
- Experience in functional and non-functional testing.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Familiarity with modern data engineering stack tools, including Databricks.
- Previous success in designing and implementing ETL processes using industry best practices.
- Ability to automate routine data processes using scripting and automation tools.
