Location Overview

Join our bustling Bromley office, situated in one of London’s greenest boroughs.

Here you’ll find plentiful and easy commuting routes, with central London just 15 minutes away by train.

Role Description

This is a great opportunity to join a Scrum team in Bromley consisting of 8 team members, working on the award-winning Global Liquidity Platform (GLP) application.

The team is one of several teams working on the application, the others being in Bromley (London) and in India.

The team is friendly and very collaborative, and this is achieved using a variety of collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams.

As the team operate in an agile manner there is also regular interaction with other technical teams, product management and end users.

Training and development are a core part of the team ethos and is available through a variety of different means – we have a great online learning portal as well as providing more formal external training for niche requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to story refinement/defining requirements.
  • Participate in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle.
  • Perform spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.
  • Code solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
  • Utilize multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements.
  • Automate manual release activities.
  • Assist team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work.
  • Be a strong technologist who is inquisitive and has a desire to learn.

What we’re looking for

  • Good Java development experience.

• Good knowledge of

  • Core Java, JEE.
  • Spring Framework – particularly Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Batch.
  • REST.
  • Unix scripting (BASH).
  • Junit.
  • Mocking (JMock/Mokito).
  • Hibernate.
  • Experience of Oracle DB – PLSQL scripting.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools – ex. Jenkins, XLR, Ansible.
  • Experience with Agile / SCRUM Programming project methodologies.
  • Experience using software configuration management systems (Git/Bit Bucket).
  • Experience working with colleagues in other (global) locations.
  • Ability to seek out information with little direction.
