Overview
United Response are seeking a part-time support worker weekends and holiday cover for our service in Harrogate. We are a small, welcoming care home in Harrogate, providing tailored support for four young adults with complex physical disabilities, learning disabilities, and wheelchair use. This role involves supporting individuals with a wide range of daily living activities both at home and in the community.
Responsibilities
- Personal care (washing, dressing, bathing, and use of any specialist equipment)
- Meal preparation and assistance
- Household tasks and medication support
- Supporting individuals in the community (e.g., attending medical appointments, shopping, and social outings)
A significant aspect of this role is providing personal care. You will be joining a stable, experienced, and friendly team, led by a proactive and supportive manager. About the role and culture
Our support workers are the heart of everything we do. This position is all about building relationships with the people you will be supporting while helping them with their day-to-day routine in line with their personal support plans such as dressing, personal care, finances, medication, attending appointments, along with employment, volunteering and hobbies.
Requirements
We are seeking dedicated, compassionate, and proactive individuals to join our team. While previous experience in social care is not essential, it is vital that you bring empathy, integrity, and a genuine commitment to treating others with dignity and respect. Comprehensive training will be provided, both online and in person, to support you in your role.
