As a Functional Skills Tutor at ROC College, you will:

  • Deliver Maths and English teaching on a 1 to 1 and group basis
  • Support students to achieve Functional Skills and GCSE qualifications
  • Assess learner needs and develop personalised learning plans
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support student outcomes
  • Maintain accurate records of learner progress and achievement
  • Embed Maths and English across wider curriculum areas
  • Support colleagues with planning and delivery
  • Contribute to achievement targets and quality improvement activities
  • Act as an ambassador for ROC College within the community

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Maths and English teaching to students with additional needs

Qualifications:

  • At least one year's experience teaching Functional Skills (Entry Level to Level 2)
  • A Level 4 Teaching Qualification (e.g. CTTLS or equivalent)
  • Experience in post-16 education and understanding of Ofsted requirements
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Experience working with learners with disabilities or additional needs
  • Ability to deliver engaging 1 to 1 and group sessions
  • Confidence managing a caseload of students and tailoring learning to individual needs
  • A flexible and creative approach to teaching
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Experience supporting learners with learning disabilities, mental health needs, or physical disabilities is highly desirable
