Parent Governor – ROC College

About the role
We’re looking for a passionate Parent/Carer Governor to join the Education Governing Committee at ROC College and bring the valuable perspective of parents, carers and families into the governance of the College.
As a Parent Governor, you’ll contribute to strategic discussions and help ensure that learners receive high-quality education, support and opportunities to achieve their potential.
You’ll provide constructive challenge and support to the education leadership team, helping the Committee maintain a strong focus on learner outcomes, wellbeing, safeguarding, inclusion and continuous improvement.
You’ll also help strengthen relationships between ROC College, learners and families, ensuring the College remains responsive, ambitious and learner-focused.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is a parent, family member or carer of a young person with additional needs, disabilities or SEND
- Has a genuine passion for improving opportunities and outcomes for learners
- Can think strategically, consider evidence and make balanced decisions
- Is confident asking insightful questions and providing constructive challenge
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates integrity, discretion and an understanding of confidentiality
- Can work effectively as part of a diverse committee
- Is committed to equality, diversity, inclusion and learner-centred approaches
- Is willing to undertake relevant training and development
Desirable: Experience as a parent/carer of a current or former ROC College student.
