United Response is seeking a shared lives Recruitment & Development Officer to play a key role in growing and strengthening our Shared Lives service. In this role, you will lead the recruitment and assessment of Shared Lives carers, promote the service within the local community, and guide prospective carers through the approval process. You will also help develop and engage our carers through training, events, and ongoing support, while working closely with the Service Manager and Coordinator to ensure the smooth delivery of a high-quality Shared Lives service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment and assessment of Shared Lives carers.
  • Promote the service through community outreach and events.
  • Guide prospective carers through the approval and training process.
  • Organise carer meetings, training, and engagement activities.
  • Contribute to matching carers with individuals.
  • Work closely with the Service Manager and Coordinator to support service delivery.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Legal right to work in the UK and currently resident within the United Kingdom.
  • Experience in health and social care, community engagement, or carer support.
  • Strong communication, organisational and report-writing skills.
  • Experience working with vulnerable adults and safeguarding principles.
  • Experience in recruitment, assessments or interviews and confidence managing a varied workload.
  • Knowledge of Shared Lives, adult social care legislation, or facilitating training is advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence desirable.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
