This position needs to support United Rentals in the development and growth by identifying new opportunities and building strong relationships within the assigned sales territory, currently National but subject to change. The (Outside) Sales Representative (OSR) will be responsible for executing United Rentals’ growth plans, through penetration and management of existing and new accounts. The primary objectives are to sell our total solution package, maximize United Rentals’ exposure to the market and exceed revenue growth objectives.
The primary tasks & responsibilities:
- The OSR serves as a direct point of contact for accounts within the assigned sales territory and is responsible for the full opportunity management process (for advanced and complex opportunities);
- Understand customer request (challenge);
- Look for opportunities to upsell and cross-sell other products;
- Complete questionnaire;
- Create quote;
- Create job package for handover to operations (IOF);
- After sales service / back office (AR aging).
- The OSR has full revenue responsibility for his/her sales territory. Even though primary opportunities will be handled by the Sales Associate;
- Outline and execute a sales territory strategy that supports an ongoing relationship with the customer;
- Develop & manage the Sales Territory Plan;
- Visit offices of the assigned accounts to introduce United Rentals’ solutions and equipment;
- Provide learning and support to the Inside Sales Team to increase wins and revenue growth;
- Joint visits with Area Sales Manager, National Sales Manager and the Solution Engineers.
Your profile:
- Excellent knowledge of Power products (generators, batteries and support equipment) and Power Rental solutions.
- Excellent knowledge of the performance of generators and related ancillary products.
- Experience within industrial markets.
- Successful years working in a technical field sales environment, ideally with equipment rental, construction, temporary power industry experience.
- Expertise and passion for prospecting new clients and securing quality business.
- Desire to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving field sales environment.
- Outstanding organisational, time management, verbal, written and IT skills.
- Educated to Bachelor Degree level or demonstrating proven professional success.
- Full driving license, living in the sales territory and willing to travel widely throughout the region.
