West Midlands Synod seeks a committed person with financial experience to serve as Synod Treasurer. This significant leadership role supports good stewardship, sound financial governance and long‑term strategic planning. Term: 3‑year renewable.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of charity governance.

  • Accounting qualification and experience in the charitable/faith sector are helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of all financial matters for the Synod and Trust Company, including long‑term strategic planning, budgeting, financial accounts, administration, evaluation of expenditure proposals and advice to committees and local churches.
  • Lead development of Synod financial policy and contribute to property policy.
  • Collaborate with Finance Officer on budget production and approval, transaction recording, cash flow management, statement of accounts and liaison with external auditor.
  • Provide advice to the Finance Officer on Synod policy interpretation and to committees as needed.
  • Support assessment of Ministry.
