About The Role

We are looking for reliable and motivated Weekend Machine Operatives to join our dry pet food manufacturing team at our Pencader site. This is a hands-on role working across key areas of production, including extrusion, mixing/grinding, and packing operations (Concetti/autoline equipment). You will play an important role in ensuring efficient production, maintaining high-quality standards, and operating machinery safely.

Shift Pattern

This role operates on a rotating weekend shift pattern:

  • One weekend – Night Shifts: Friday 10:00pm – Sunday 10:00am (2 × 12-hour shifts)
  • Following weekend – Day Shifts: Saturday 10:00am – Sunday 10:00pm (2 × 12-hour shifts)

Shifts rotate weekly between days and nights. Contracted hours: 24 hours worked per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor production machinery including:
    • Extrusion systems
    • Mixing and grinding equipment
    • Packing lines (Concetti/autoline)
  • Ensure product quality meets required standards
  • Carry out basic machine checks and report faults
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures at all times
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors to meet production targets

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment (preferred)
  • Experience operating machinery (extrusion, packing, or mixing equipment desirable but not essential – full training provided)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable and flexible approach
