- Basic Function
Responsible for operating mechanical packing equipment and careful storage of finished product, in accordance with customer requirements.
Ensuring all company procedures and regulations are followed, as well as demonstrating competent Health & Safety practices.
- Key Duties
- Packing goods and supplies as per customer requirements, or as directed
- Checking for missing or damaged goods, flagging to Line Lead or quarantining as required
- Completing packing paperwork/ computer entries
- Completing accurately and in a timely fashion all paperwork relating to traceability and quality control
- Storing materials and goods correctly and safety at all times
- Keeping packing area and work area clean and tidy
- Working effectively and efficiently at all times
- Ensuring communications are effective with co-workers, supervisors and other departments
- Cooperating and functioning as part of an effective and cohesive warehouse team
- Ensuring attention to detail and attention to safety are adhered to at all times.
- General Responsibilities
- Ensuring that you only operate equipment that you are trained on, and carry out the operation in a safe manner, at all times
- Preparing packing line as instructed
- Collecting all materials and equipment needed to begin the process, ahead of time
- Quality checking the product being packed, to ensure it is of the highest quality
- Completing packing paperwork and documentation correctly, clearly and accurately
- Packing, labelling and stacking product correctly, as per the product specifications and instructions
- Labelling all completed pallets, ensuring it is done correctly and safely for shipping
- Storing all stock correctly (WIP, finished product or packaging), in a tidy and safe manner, with clear labelling at all times
- Removing any defective products or materials, ensuring they are clearly labelled, quarantined and reported to the department supervisor
- Assisting with stock takes, as directed.

- Additional Responsibilities
- In common with all other personnel within United Pet Food, the Job Holder is required to adhere to the Company’s policies on Safety, Hygiene and good housekeeping. Specifically:
- To take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and that of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions
- To co-operate regarding any duty or requirement imposed on the company, or on any individual by or under any of the relevant statutory provisions, so far as is necessary, to enable that duty or requirement to be performed or complied with

- To safeguard the quality, legality and safety of the product at all times
