We are seeking a reliable and detail-focused Hygiene Operative to join our dedicated team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our production areas. Your efforts will directly support food safety and quality, making you a key part of our operations. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to follow hygiene protocols in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities

Carry out scheduled and unscheduled cleaning of production lines, machinery, and general production areas.

Ensure full compliance with hygiene standards and food safety regulations, including BRC and HACCP.

Support deep-cleaning operations during maintenance or production shutdowns.

Handle and dispose of waste safely and in accordance with company procedures.

Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as scrubber-dryer machines.

Replenish hygiene materials like soap, paper towels, and cleaning agents as needed.

Record hygiene activities and report any issues or hazards to your manager.

Maintain cleanliness in external areas as part of the hygiene programme.

Work flexibly across hygiene tasks and assist other departments when required.
Requirements

Previous experience in industrial cleaning or hygiene roles is a plus but not required.

Understanding of food hygiene and safety practices (e.g. HACCP, BRC) is desirable.

Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when needed.

A hands-on mindset and a proactive approach to maintaining high standards.

Good physical condition and ability to work in shift-based schedules.
