Work Schedule: Monday to Friday - 42.5 hours per week, various shift patterns, flexibility required including weekend and bank holiday working as required, to suit the needs of the business, which may be of an urgent medical nature.
Salary: £12.75 per hour, Monday to Friday. Overtime hours worked over 55 hours Monday to Friday are paid at £19.12 per hour. Overtime hours worked on weekends and bank holidays are also paid at £19.12 per hour.
Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities:
- Driving a 3.5 tonne van/panel van, fully fitted to carry fragile medical equipment.
- Delivering specialist medical equipment, locking and loading/strapping of high-end medical equipment, as per white glove delivery service.
- Assisting sales members at exhibitions and customer requests.
- Ensuring that time-critical deliveries are met.
- Checking correct times/quantities are on deliveries/collections and undamaged, preparing and wrapping for delivery/collection.
- Reporting any issues/defects immediately.
- Liaising directly with sales and office staff.
- Health and Safety, maintain a clean safe working environment.
- Scanning of items on delivery and collection using Filemaker drivers app to ensure stock traceability and stock integrity.
- Completing weekly vehicle checks as per company compliance rules and regulations.
- Expert knowledge of road safety and highway code.
- Comprehensive driving background with technical experience in fragile transport, with knowledge of the lock and load ratchet system.
Special Requirements:
- Must live in Stevenage or the immediate vicinity.
- Minimum category B Drivers Licence, with no more than 3 points.
- Minimum 2 years driving experience, including motorways.
- Good organisational skills and time management.
- Team player mentality with ability to work on own initiative.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of strapping securing loads for transit.
- Full 5 year checkable employment history, including any gaps in employment.
