As a delivery and collection driver, you will make collections and deliveries to GP surgeries, retail pharmacies, wholesalers and hospitals. You will also be required to make deliveries to patients and on occasion assist them with the rotation and return of stock items. In this role, excellent customer service is essential. You will work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with flexibility to cover additional hours as needed. The average weekly hours range from 48 to 52.
Key Responsibilities
- Check and scan all consignments.
- Complete daily safety checks of vehicle and refrigeration unit.
- Deliver consignments accurately and on time, maintaining required temperature range.
- Electronically capture delivery records and complete driver manifests.
- Maintain daily communications to provide service updates.
- Demonstrate professional and safe driving competency at all times.
- Maintain a smart working appearance.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of driving experience.
- Holder of a B category driving licence (ideally no more than 3 points).
- Previous delivery driver experience is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with customers/clients while maintaining confidentiality.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise.
Benefits
We offer 28 days' holiday (including bank holidays) building to 33 days in the sixth full holiday year, a company pension scheme, and the UPS Perks At Work scheme.
Schedule and Compensation
Tuesday to Saturday: 7 am–midday (Tuesday–Friday), 5 am–midday to 2 pm on Saturdays. 40 hours a week. Hourly rate of £12.82.
