As a Dispensing Assistant working within the in-house pharmacy, you'll be labelling and dispensing Homecare prescriptions ready for a final accuracy check, maintaining accurate patient medication records and providing support to facilitate the smooth operation of the dispensary.
Working 37.5 hours per week between 0800 and 1800 on a split shift basis. You must be flexible and prepared to work additional hours as required to meet service requirements, which may be of an urgent medical nature.
NVQ Level 2 Dispensary qualification desired but not essential as full in-house training will be given, working towards the NVQ Level 2 certification, which the company provides.

Key responsibilities:
- Label and dispense prescriptions
- Maintain accurate patient medication records
- Accurate dispensing of homecare prescriptions in accordance with MEP (Medicines, Ethics and Practice guide)
- Management of dispensary stationery and general dispensary standards
- Compliance with stock management
- Fridge temperature management
- Activity to support the smooth running of the dispensary
- Must demonstrate attention to detail and accurately perform repetitive tasks
- Must be able to work well under pressure and be able to prioritise workload
- Demonstrate a clear patient focus, must be able to self-audit and to accept responsibility for actions
Specialist Knowledge:
- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services Skills (Dispensing) or Dispensing Assistant course equivalent
- Therapy Knowledge for specific homecare therapies
Location: Based at Polarspeed Distribution Ltd, Site 1, Chartmoor Road, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, LU7 4WG
Hours: 37.5 Hours, Monday to Friday, between 08:00–16:30 or 09:30–18:00
