Job Responsibilities
- Manage scanning of packages of pallets to your delivery vehicle.
- Manage safe and secure loading of all consignments to vehicle.
- Conduct daily diligence on vehicle safety checks and report any issues prior to dispatch.
- Ensure vehicle is at proper temperature prior to loading.
- Deliver and collect pharmaceutical consignments to addresses including GP surgeries, retail pharmacists, hospitals, wholesalers, and home delivery patients.
- Physically check and scan all consignments at delivery point.
- Communicate operational delays or delivery failures to line manager and team leaders ASAP.
- Complete EPOD/Driver Manifest/Collection/Refusal paperwork correctly.
- Manage returns process of consignments entering local depot, scanning to forwarding depot.
- Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle and uniform, and wear safety shoes/boots and high-viz clothing at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2 years driving experience, including motorway experience.
- Minimum Category B driver’s licence, ideally with no more than 3 points.
- Previous delivery driving experience advantageous.
- Previous temperature-controlled driving experience desired but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills with colleagues and clients.
- Team-player mentality with ability to work on own initiative.
- Flexibility in working hours/days to suit business needs, including urgent medical nature.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with other departments, team leaders, and depot manager.
- Capability to maintain confidentiality.
Screening
Successful candidates will undergo an enhanced DBS check and a minimum of 3 years referencing checks, including any gaps in employment.
Employment Details
- Employee type: contract (minimum 40 hours per week).
- Weekly schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours minimum.
- Working hours: 7:00 am start, 40 to 48 hours, flexibility required.
- Hourly rate: £13.04 per hour.
