We are seeking an experienced, proactive Human Resources Specialist to join the South & East Human Resources team on an initial 9-month fixed-term contract. This is a standalone, hands-on role based primarily at our Stanford-Le-Hope and Stansted locations, providing full, end-to-end HR and recruitment support for our locations and Feeder Department (HGV Drivers) operations. Due to the nature of the business units supported, the role requires coverage of primarily evening and night shifts, along with regular travel to other locations as required.

Responsibilities:
- As the sole HR contact during your shift, you will operate as a trusted partner and expert resource for all staff.
- For Employees: Act as an approachable and experienced advisor, offering impartial guidance on company policies, procedures, and internal queries.
- For Management: Provide proactive, high-quality HR consultative services across core areas, including complex Employee Relations (ER), Talent Management, and Recruitment.
- Compliance Management: Maintain strict compliance standards across all HR processes, including Disciplinary Hearings, Grievance Hearings, and Long-Term Sickness Reviews.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage recruitment from screening and interviewing to final document checks, ensuring strict Right to Work Documentation Compliance.
- HR Auditing: Conduct regular HR matter audits and provide detailed feedback to Centre Management teams to ensure the maintenance of high company standards and operational excellence.
- Independent Workload Management: Successfully manage your own independent workload and travel schedule to ensure comprehensive and timely support across all assigned business areas.
- HR Experience: Proven experience as an HR Advisor, including managing complex ER cases, long-term sickness case management, and complex outcome letter writing.
- HR Qualification: Minimum CIPD Level 5 or equivalent qualification through experience, with demonstrable confidence in providing robust ER advice.
- Legal Knowledge: Up-to-date and practical understanding of UK employment law, policies, and procedures.
- Mobility: Full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle. Business mileage expenses will be paid, and a review of a company car may be considered depending on annual mileage.
- Soft Skills: Must be self-motivated, highly organized, process-driven, and able to accommodate varying working hours and meeting demanding deadlines independently.
This is a 37.5-hour per week role (Monday to Friday). Due to the operational units being supported, flexibility in working hours is essential. Shifts will be determined by business needs and may include, but are not limited to, the following examples (with appropriate breaks between shifts): 15:00 - 23:00, 16:00 - 00:00, 17:00 - 01:00 (or later).
