Join UPS as a Risk Management Industrial Placement for the 2026‑2027 Academic Year. This is a 13‑month placement designed for second‑year undergraduate students to support the Risk Management team of UPS International Insurance.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the completion of monthly data extraction, analysis, and reporting tasks (e.g., claim numbers, financials, and trends).
- Assist with claims analysis leading to presentations related to accident prevention and accountability, and develop ad‑hoc Risk Management reports.
- Collect, verify, and present data for Region and Corporate Risk Managers.
- Manage internal access requests for claim reporting platforms across various countries.
- Prepare Driving History Letters for current and former UPS employees.
- Assist with Claims Management for the Europe Region, including data extraction and claims analysis.
- Perform daily cash flow forecasting and payment administration for UPS International Insurance.
- Monitor recoverable claims in the UK, coordinating with contacts to gather required information.
- Handle UPS International Insurance claim payments.
- Complete on‑site audits of third‑party service providers throughout Europe to ensure claims are handled to the expected standard, and work with providers to improve processes.
- Maintain and update the Risk Management departmental procedures related to all above activities.
Critical Performance Indicators
- Complete daily and monthly tasks efficiently and within required timescales.
- Execute ad‑hoc analysis and project tasks and communicate them timely to the Risk Management department and other UPS departments.
Knowledge And Experience
- Must be working toward an undergraduate degree that requires analytical skills; a year in industry must be part of your degree for eligibility.
- Potential to develop strong project management, communication (written and oral), interpersonal, and networking skills.
- Proficient PC skills: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to manipulate and analyze data using common programs, and initiative to create and explore potential routes of enquiry and develop them for presentation and discussion within the Risk department and other UPS departments.
