United Offshore Support GmbH (UOS) is a leading global operator of sophisticated offshore support vessels specializing in the technical, crew and commercial management of high-powered anchor handling tug/supply (AHTS) vessels, large platform supply vessels (PSVs) and subsea vessels working in the offshore energy industry worldwide. We are actively looking for an Infrastructure & Security Engineer to join our Team! This is a fixed-term position for a period of 2 years. This is a hybrid role, offering a combination of remote and in-office work, based out of one of our office locations in either Leer, Germany or Aberdeen, UK. We will also consider candidates within Europe with availability to frequently visit our offices.
The Infrastructure & Security Engineer is responsible for the high availability of core systems and infrastructure globally, capacity management, network and security management, coordinating IT projects across the IT estate in line with internal processes. Proactive infrastructure management to ensure the business maintains productivity. In addition, provides second and third line support for core infrastructure and related change/problem management tasks for the IT Service Desk.
Responsibilities:- Sound knowledge of and adherence to the Business Management System (BMS) framework and governance.
- Proactive support of global IT infrastructure and applications.
- Technical advice, support and delivery on projects for all locations including vessels.
- Management, administration and proactive monitoring of our Security/Network systems.
- Engage with the business systems team, projects and the wider business to ensure IT services are meeting the needs.
- Provide IT change management oversight, including review and approval of system changes.
- Ensure timely investigation and closure of any action related to incidents during network and security incidents.
- Capacity management and planning.
- Infrastructure design and refresh, managing planned preventive maintenance.
- Ensure internal / external customer focus is maintained.
- 2nd/3rd line Service desk support and act as an escalation point for the Service Desk team.
- Responsible for documentation of policies related to infrastructure and security.
- Development of communication schedule to keep stakeholders informed of progress and impact of infrastructure changes.
- Security familiarisation campaigns conducted and managed for entire work force.
- Actively supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence across the organization.
- Vessel visits and support where required.
- Educated to Degree level in Computer Networking/Cyber Security or relevant experience.
- Strong IP networking skills.
- Experience working in Cyber Security.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Team-oriented and customer-oriented approach.
- Able to prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Experienced in working with different cultures and backgrounds.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. German is a great plus.
