The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial team in delivering cladding remediation projects, ensuring accurate cost management, compliance with contractual obligations, and effective financial reporting. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop their career in construction cost management within a specialized sector focused on building safety and façade remediation.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Management & Valuations
- Assist in preparing and submitting interim valuations and final accounts.
- Monitor project costs against budgets and forecasts.
- Support in managing variations and change control processes.
- Procurement & Subcontractor Management
- Assist in preparing tender documents and analyzing subcontractor quotations.
- Help with subcontractor payments and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and contractual terms.
- Contract Administration
- Support in drafting and reviewing contractual documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of correspondence and contractual notices.
- Assist in managing risk and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Financial Reporting
- Prepare cost reports and assist in monthly commercial reporting.
- Support cash flow forecasting and cost-to-complete analysis.
- Site & Project Support
- Attend site meetings and liaise with project teams.

Qualifications

- Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or related discipline/ Will accept working towards.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial software (e.g., COINS, Causeway).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Desirable
- Experience in cladding remediation or façade works or similar.
- Knowledge of JCT or NEC contracts.
- Understanding of building safety regulations and compliance requirements.
