Jones Lighting is a well-established, family-run business and leading provider of street lighting solutions for local authorities. We are looking for an experienced, skilled, and reliable HGV Grab Driver / Reinstatement Specialist to join our team at our Widnes depot.

Key Responsibilities

  • Excavation and Backfill: Safely manage materials using the Grab wagon, assist with manual backfilling and material movement.
  • High-Quality Reinstatement: Ensure precise reinstatement work and safe working around buried utility plant (cables, pipes, etc.).
  • Safety Critical Work: Maintain safe operations near overhead electricity and telephone lines.
  • Site Management: Responsible for all Signing, Lighting, and Guarding (SLG) of work areas.
  • Compliance: Follow all Safe Systems of Work procedures.

Key Requirements

  • Full HGV Licence with authorisation to operate Grab/Lorry Loader vehicle.
  • Minimum 1 year demonstrated experience operating a grab wagon (clamshell attachment preferred).
  • Streetworks Qualification Units 1-7 (or equivalent).
  • Current EUSR CSCS SHEA Power card (or equivalent for utility work).
  • Full, clean driving licence (minor points considered).

Desirable Qualifications

  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Manual Handling Certification.
  • Abrasive Wheels Training.
