Responsibilities
- Maintain own and others health and safety
- Report any accidents, near misses, faults, damages or defects using appropriate documentation
- Carry out safety checks and inspections to vehicles, plant, equipment and sites as instructed
- Undertake duties to appropriate quality standards
- Follow health and hygiene rules
- Ensure that work is undertaken with due regard to the environment, prevent contamination to water supplies, maintain site cleanliness, prevent spills, minimise disturbance to members of the public, avoid damage to trees, dispose of waste only as authorised
- Excavate where necessary using safe digging methods to facilitate reinstatement of highways following rehabilitation works
- Reinstate highways, footpaths etc using materials and methods in accordance with HAUC specifications
- Manhandle materials, plant and equipment
- Drive company vehicles for authorised business purposes
- Operate mobile plant for authorised business purposes
- Maintain site, vehicle, plant and equipment tidiness and security
- Maintain road signs, barriers and cones to ‘Chapter 8’ standard
- Assist members of the public, ‘clients’ representatives and other officials in relation to company business
- Undertake any other reasonable instruction given by management or supervision
