Utility Infrastructure – Our team of Utility Infrastructure specialists design, build and maintain critical water, energy (gas), power and telecoms infrastructure for the UK’s largest network owners and operators.

Social Infrastructure - Our team of Social Infrastructure specialists revitalise homes and communities by carrying out a wide range of work, from retrofit to refurbishment, and maintenance.

We are looking for an Apprentice to join our Energy business who design, build, and maintain critical national infrastructure on behalf of UK energy transmission and distribution network owners. You will join our work winning team, who are responsible for writing tender submissions and reviewing documentation to secure new contracts for the business.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and organising bids and tender submissions to clients and keeping track of key dates to ensure deadlines are achieved.
  • Setting up meetings for each tender and ensuring everyone is aware of deadlines, milestones and is prepped.
  • Extracting key information out of client documents and summarising for the team.
  • Planning and writing simple responses to client questions.
  • Monitoring key portals and sources of new tender opportunities for the business.
  • Managing the bid library to ensure it contains the latest company information and project case studies.
  • Carrying out market research on clients, competitors and latest developments in the industry.
  • Updating CRM systems with the latest tender dates, opportunities and progress tracking.
  • Organising and supporting industry, corporate hospitality events. Booking venues and accommodation, organising presentation materials, trade stands etc.

As an Apprentice with United Infrastructure, you’ll be given a real job from day one where you will gain hands-on industry experience and the knowledge required to achieve a nationally recognised qualification. In order to fully develop in your role, you will be enrolled onto the L3 Bid and Proposals Coordinator apprenticeship qualification with one of our training partners. This learning pathway is delivered entirely remotely, and you will access online self-accessed or virtually delivered classroom sessions, and one-to-one support from your tutor or coach. They will also meet regularly with you and your line manager to ensure you are progressing through your programme.

Academic Entry Requirements

In order to be successful in this role, we would like you to have already achieved, or be predicted to achieve by Summer 2026:

  • 5 GCSEs at Grade 9-4/A*-C including English and Mathematics
  • Good IT skills and able to use Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel
  • Good organisation, time management, attention to detail and communication skills

You must also be available to start full-time work by August 2026 and have:

  • The commitment to live and breathe our company values during your work and studies.
  • The motivation and dedication to successfully complete your apprenticeship programme.

Please note, as this is an apprenticeship programme, in order to be eligible to apply you must not already have an equivalent level or higher qualification in the occupational area, or significant work experience.

Upon successful completion of your programme, you will achieve:

  • Level 3 Bid and Proposal Coordinator Apprenticeship.
  • Eligible for membership of the Association of Bid and Proposal Management Professionals (APMP).
