United Living Infrastructure are currently looking for a SHEQ Advisor to provide invaluable health and safety support and advice to teams undertaking works on behalf of Northumbrian Water.

Your role as SHEQ Advisor will involve:

  • Undertaking periodic risk assessments and implementing more robust procedures when necessary
  • Providing specialist SHEQ advice to colleagues / subcontractors
  • Ensuring contracts are compliant and that positive behaviours are embedded in the day to day works of our operational teams

Interpersonal, Supervisory or Management

  • Good inter-personal skills with proven skills in coaching and motivating people
  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively at all organisational levels (including Senior Managers)
  • Ability to recommend preventative action, develop new initiatives and co-ordinate or ensure their implementation
  • Ability to develop & deliver training / briefing material in an innovative, enjoyable but effective way
  • Demonstrates determination to achieve business goals despite opposition and displays personal commitment

Technical or Specialist

  • Experienced in auditing and root cause analysis techniques
  • Ability to identify and assess patterns of resistance and effective problem-solving skills
  • A good understanding of CDM Regulations, specifically in relation to Client, Principal Designer & Principal Contractor role.

Qualifications

Essential (at appointment)

  • Recognised environmental qualification
  • Knowledge & experience of Environmental management requirements.
  • Current full UK driving license

Desirable

  • Membership of an environmental professional body or engineering institute to incorporated or chartered level
  • NEBOSH Certificate and considerable relevant construction SHE water industry experience.
  • Formal auditor training ISO 9001 / 14001 / 18001 trained
