In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems and equipment for wastewater treatment plants and associated infrastructure. Your key responsibilities include creating electrical designs, specifications, and layouts that meet project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams—including mechanical engineers, project managers, and subcontractors—to ensure seamless project execution, conduct electrical load calculations, select appropriate components, and ensure all designs are cost‑effective, efficient, and environmentally compliant.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Working with electrical installations and automation control systems.
- Conducting regular site visits to assess installation progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure successful implementation of electrical systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (preferable).
- Chartered Engineer status and membership of professional institutions such as IET, InstMC, or CIWEM (ideal).
- Water treatment experience and understanding of control systems.
- Significant experience in the technical delivery of process plant systems on complex water industry engineering projects.
- Excellent project management, organisational skills, and ability to multitask.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computer literacy.
- CAD expertise and experience preferable.
- Field/practical experience.
- Excellent CDM and health & safety knowledge and application.
- Positive “can do” attitude with flexible approach to work.
- Excellent personal presentation.
- Driving licence preferable (full, clean).
- CSCS card preferable.
- Hands‑on field experience.
- Training will be provided in this role.
- Ideal qualified electrician/panel building experience.
- Understanding of cable calculations, awareness of Trimble/Amtek software.
- Working knowledge of BS7671 (18th Edition).
- Compliance with electrical regulations.
