Overview

Please note that this role may be based in either Darlington or Warrington. You will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, working on a wide range of activities ranging from case work, absence management, payroll and checking the work of the shared services team such as contracts and letters.

Responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact for HR queries such as terms and conditions, HR policies and procedures, and pay.
  • Support managers from start to finish on ER matters such as investigations, performance and/or conduct issues, disciplinaries and grievances.
  • Support managers on absence management of employees including arranging occupational health needs, unauthorised absence, long and short term sickness and managing absence under the Bradford Factor process.
  • Provide and (at times design) training on HR matters as and when required to the Pillar.
  • Support the People Business Partner and at times lead on organisational change activities such as TUPEs, restructures and redundancies.

HR Projects

  • Support the People Business Partner in the implementation and delivery of the People strategy.
  • Lead and/or support (as appropriate) on any HR projects as required by the Pillar or Business at the time.

Payroll

  • Ensure that all payroll instructions are prepared, logged and checked in time for the monthly payroll run, including contractual variations, new starters, leavers, contractual benefits, and employee benefits.
  • Provide sickness reports that confirm paid and unpaid sickness for the monthly payroll run.

HR Database and Reporting

  • Responsible for updating and managing the HR ER database.
  • Run/review routine HR reports such as a monthly Bradford Factor report for the Pillar.
  • Review and monitor key payroll reports such as maternity and National Minimum Wage reports and action accordingly to ensure compliance.
  • Update and maintain the HR system’s records.
  • Run and provide ad hoc HR reports as required by the Business Partner, Pillar and/or Business.

Leaver Administration

  • Carry out exit interviews to support retention plans.

Other Administrative Duties

  • Support with any administrative tasks related to the Pillar as required.
  • Maintain and update Process notes for all People Advisor duties.
  • Ensure that all aspects of data protection and confidentiality are maintained at all times.
  • Any other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • HR related qualification or Level 5 or above.
