Join to apply for the Agricultural Liaison Officer role at United Living Group. The role will be based at our Site Offices close to Chester and will initially be a 2 year fixed‑term contract. The agricultural liaison officer position will work on behalf of the main works contractor, on an EPC contract (Major Pipeline).

Responsibilities

  • Attend landowner/farmer meetings as appropriate to carry out pre‑entry agreements for the Main Works Contractor.
  • Implement & maintain a communications log containing correspondence & requests from landowners.
  • Deal with complaints and resolution of landowners & client’s complaints and defects.
  • Provide landowner and agricultural advice to project staff and project consultants as required.
  • Carry out daily site visits to ensure works being carried out are compliant with landowner’s requirements, agreements and in accordance with relevant legislation.
  • Undertake schedule of conditions throughout the relevant landholdings.
  • Assist in providing regular update reports and attending scheme progress meetings as required.
  • Have sound knowledge of agriculture legislation, policy and best practice guidance across a range of areas including agricultural, drainage and soil assessment and management.
  • Liaise with Inspection Controller / SPI for Agricultural Inspection activities.
  • Ensure any design changes resulting from ALO responsibilities are reviewed by the Design Coordinator and approved by the appropriate design authority for the contract before any change to works is authorised.

Qualifications

  • Demonstratable agricultural and rural affairs experience.
  • Knowledge of soil management and land drainage.
  • Cross‑country pipeline industry experience – preferably in gas transmission.
  • Experience of liaising with farmers and landowners for major construction projects, ideally in pipeline projects.
  • IT competency especially with MS Office.
