United Infrastructure is looking for a Commercial Assistant to join our team. As part of a dynamic, fast‑growing division, you'll be at the heart of nationally significant infrastructure projects that will shape the UK's future.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting the commercial team and contributing towards its success across the full lifecycle of each project — from measuring completed works to approving subcontractor supply chain applications.
- Contract management in line with JTC, NEC 3/4 (Options A & C).
- Subcontractor negotiations, payments, and performance tracking.
- Deliver accurate and timely completed works measures and billing processes.
- Produce monthly cost value reconciliation and generate earned value analysis reports, whilst maintaining robust commercial documentation.
Qualifications
- Must have experience in NHF SoR Rates or similar bespoke Sor Rates.
- Familiarity with the construction industry.
- 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at 9-4 (grade C or above), including Maths, English, and ideally a Science.
- Any previous Level 4 related qualification or equivalent discipline is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel.
- Basic understanding of standard methods of measurement.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enthusiasm, commitment, and flexibility.
- Willingness to take responsibility for own development and extend knowledge of software packages.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Previous experience in the construction industry is desirable.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel as required.
