Core Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of SHEQ systems across energy generation, distribution, and water/wastewater operations
- Ensure compliance with sector regulations (e.g. environmental permits, utility safety standards)
- Maintain SHEQ documentation aligned with operational sites, assets, and projects
Compliance & Regulation
- Updating of legal registers to ensure compliance with legal obligations
- Help ensure adherence to standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001
- Updating of the SHEQ Management system
- Help ensure compliance with facilities management obligations – coordinating the booking of Mental Health First Aid and Fire Warden training and ensuring there are always the required amount of trained people available
- Ensuring SHEQ critical actions are closed in line with the required deadline.
Auditing & Inspections
- Support with internal and external audits across the Energy and Water businesses
- Track audit findings and ensure timely close-out of corrective actions
Incident & Environmental Management
- Support with incident close outs
- Maintain incident logs and ensure regulatory reporting timelines are met
Operational Support
- Maintain risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
- Support asset risk management, including critical infrastructure and maintenance activities
- Assist with contractor SHEQ compliance across field-based operations
- Produce COSHH risk assessments via the COSHH risk assessment digital system
- Arrange for Eco Online data to be maintained and kept up to date
Data, Reporting & Performance
- Produce monthly SHEQ performance reports for each client
- Monitor progress against KPIs and support the business to achieve these
- Support data collection for sustainability and ESG reporting
Training & Culture
- Coordinate SHEQ inductions and refresher training for operational and site-based staff
- Promote a strong safety and environmental culture across field teams and contractors
- Support toolbox talks and safety briefings across the energy and water businesses
