United Infrastructure Transmission & Distribution Ltd UK is seeking a HSE Advisor on-site in Argyll, Scotland due to significant growth. Your role? Providing essential support, assurance, and advice on all HSE matters. Preferable experience in Overhead Lines, Underground Cabling and Civils environment, offering on-site HSSE Advisor support for multiple electricity transmission and distribution projects, particularly in Perthshire, Scotland with SSE as our primary client. Responsibilities
- Provide strategic advice, guidance, and support on Project HSSE matters.
- In conjunction with the T&D UK HSSE Manager, roll out Company HSSE objectives and develop specific HSSE objectives for their projects, as necessary.
- Roll out Company HSSE campaigns and initiatives.
- Monitor industry best practice to assist in the development of the above.
- Lead high potential (Level 1) incident investigations and provide support for higher potential (Level 2) incident investigations, including generating meaningful lessons learned, recorded as SMART corrective/preventative actions.
- Undertake visits to project facilities and worksites and provide constructive reviews of the status.
- Develop and ensure the implementation of HSSE Management Plans.
- Provide regular performance reports to the Project Management team and T&D UK HSSE Manager.
- Undertake leading and lagging indicator analysis for the business and provide business-wide alerts to advise the business leadership of trends which cause concern.
- Provide an HSSE focal point for clients.
- Support bid and proposals and external audits.
Qualifications
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.
- CSCS Internal Auditor.
Skills
- HSE Advisor with project and corporate experience in transmission and distribution, oil and gas or other related industry.
- Excellent working knowledge of UK legislation.
- Ability to develop and maintain management systems.
- Ability to undertake investigations and establish causal factors and root causes and then develop suitably detailed investigation reports including corrective/preventative actions.
- Ability to develop training and campaign materials.
- High level of communication skills, (both written and spoken), and ability to use them effectively across all aspects of the business, (e.g., with the workforce, business management, HSSE management and client).
- Good planning and organisational skills.
- Competent MS Office suite user.
