United Infrastructure Transmission & Distribution are seeking an Assistant Project Manager based in the Inverness area of Scotland. The role will ensure delivery excellence on assigned projects by effectively supporting managing scope, schedule, cost, and risk, while providing clarity and assurance to stakeholders, overseeing progress, and adhering to organizational procedures and safety standards.

You will have experience of development and delivery of multi-million-pound projects to deliver safely, on-time and within budget. Experience of working on NGED, SSEN, NGET and similar transmission and distribution network operators would be advantageous.

The Role: As Assistant Project Manager, you'll support the PM in overseeing project delivery, managing scope, schedule, cost, and risk while ensuring stakeholder clarity, aligning with UI T&D and client goals, and applying high standards throughout all project phases, including design and construction, with essential experience in handling T&D project design and budgets.

A relevant technical degree or equivalent demonstrable experience is required, along with proven project delivery skills in areas such as data analysis, stakeholder management, cost estimation, project planning, and effective communication, while demonstrating strong organisational abilities and initiative.

  • Designs activities using existing solutions
  • Maintains relationships with team and stakeholders
  • Negotiates minor changes with the sponsor/customer
  • Reports progress regularly
  • Conducts kick-off meetings
  • Attends customer meetings to understand requirements
  • Prepares organization charts
  • Chairs meetings and distributes minutes
  • Tracks progress and quality
  • Uses tools to monitor plans, hours, budgets, and spending
  • Communicates project info to the team and customer
  • Keeps stakeholders informed and flags issues early
  • Leads a small project team
