Due to sustained growth and increased workload—particularly within our AMP8 framework agreements—we are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager with a strong civil engineering background. This is an excellent opportunity to join our integrated project delivery team and lead complex, multi-disciplinary water and wastewater projects.

You will be accountable for the successful end-to-end delivery of projects—ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Champion and demonstrate our core values: Respect, Integrity, Responsibility, and Excellence.

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage the delivery of multiple ongoing projects (up to ÂŁ10 million in value).
  • Undertake Principal Contractor responsibilities in accordance with CDM 2015 regulations.
  • Lead the implementation of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) procedures across all projects.
  • Conduct regular health and safety site inspections and promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Manage overall project programmes, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Oversee all commercial aspects, including budget management, cost control, and achieving target margins.
  • Provide line management to Site Managers, Engineers, and Site Foremen.
  • Coordinate and manage supply chain partners, resolving issues and driving performance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders; build strong relationships and provide regular updates on project progress.
  • Chair and lead project meetings, ensuring accurate documentation of discussions, actions, and decisions.
  • Manage change control and client expectations through effective communication and risk management.
  • Collaborate with designers to develop practical, cost‑effective, and buildable solutions.
  • Mentor and support the professional development of project delivery teams.
  • Ensure all necessary method statements and risk assessments are in place and maintained.
  • Plan and secure resources and materials to meet delivery schedules.

We’re looking for a confident, proactive, and highly organised individual who brings a passion for delivering quality civil engineering projects. You’ll be an experienced project leader with a strong track record in the water industry, particularly across complex infrastructure and non‑infrastructure works. You’ll have a problem‑solving mindset, excellent interpersonal skills, and the drive to exceed client expectations in everything you do.

Essential Skills And Qualifications

  • Degree, HND, or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar Project Manager role within the water industry
  • APM PMQ (or equivalent project management qualification)
  • SMSTS (CITB)
  • CSCS (Manager Level)
  • CDM Awareness
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management

Desirable Skills And Qualifications

  • NEBOSH or IOSH Managing Safely
  • Temporary Works Coordinator certification
  • Proficient in MS Project or similar planning tools
  • SEATS or Environmental Management training
