A subsidiary of United Living Group, United Living Infrastructure Services provide design, construction, commissioning and maintenance services for the UK's critical energy and water infrastructure. The QA/QC Manager will lead all quality assurance and quality control activities across the project lifecycle—from procurement through to commissioning and handover. This role demands a technically robust leader who can enforce quality standards, assure delivery, and ensure project compliance with regulatory and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and manage the Project Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 and client standards.
- Lead the QA/QC function across all scopes (civil, mechanical, trenchless works, welding, coating, commissioning).
- Manage a multi-disciplinary quality and inspection teams, overseeing inspections, NCRs, ITPs, and third-party involvement.
- Approve and monitor QA documentation from all contractors and suppliers.
- Direct the resolution of non-conformances, ensuring root cause analysis and preventive actions are embedded.
- Coordinate quality audits and reporting, ensuring compliance across internal and external requirements.
- Oversee quality deliverables for civil and mechanical completion, hydrotesting, and project handover.
- Represent the quality function to the client and regulatory stakeholders, providing assurance on construction integrity and compliance.
- 10+ years of QA/QC experience in pipeline, energy, or major infrastructure projects; at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of pipeline construction techniques, trenchless methods, coating application, welding assurance, non-destructive testing and hydrotesting.
- Expertise in international codes and standards: ISO 9001, ASME, BS EN 14161, API 1104, ISO 21809, DNV Standards and BS4515-1.
- Recognised qualifications in quality auditing (Lead Auditor ISO 9001), welding inspection (CSWIP), and NDT (PCN Level 2 UT/RT/MT).
- Experience managing quality assurance systems, audit programmes, and regulatory compliance in high-risk sectors.
