Following the acquisition of Wood’s UK Transmission, you will be involved in the whole project lifecycle, developing your skills and building a career; this will help you develop the necessary attributes you need to demonstrate meeting the Engineering Council requirements for Chartered Engineers.

Within your role you will be supported to develop your skills so that you can be responsible for:
- Complete overhead line design studies to support construction and consultancy projects.
- Set up and develop transmission line models.
- Produce electrical line performance assessments and all electrical safety studies.
- Produce or utilise OHL support models within the transmission design models.
- Evaluate, select, and quantify transmission line components on projects.
- Support safety by design assessments throughout the design process.
- Integrate and support the development of innovation within project solutions.
- Create design deliverables to confirm the outputs of the engineering studies to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure, as far as practicable, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and programme.
- Keep up to date with all technical quality management procedures, developments and specifications related to the discipline work scope.
Qualifications
We are looking for graduates with a desire to learn and a sound understanding of engineering. The ideal candidates should have a BEng or MEng degree in a suitable Engineering discipline including Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical. You will enjoy problem solving/troubleshooting, detailed analysis, willing to embrace new ideas, and most importantly take on assignments where the approach or solution isn’t known at the outset. We are keen to hear from strong engineers who want to build a rewarding career for themselves.
The development journey we need to take our graduates on covers all aspects necessary to support professional recognition for UK institutions like the ICE, IET and IMechE. We have graduates that have followed this path and now occupy senior roles in our company and throughout the sector.

Expected:
- Minimum 2:1 degree - BEng or MEng degree in a suitable Engineering discipline including Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical.
- Strong technical skills in the production of engineering designs.
- Fluent spoken and written English language.
- Ability to work as part of a dispersed and remote team and be able to communicate through collaboration software such as Microsoft Teams.
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary team environments.
- The right to work in the UK.
