Our company is split into two business areas:

  • Utility Infrastructure – Our team of Utility Infrastructure specialists design, build and maintain critical water, energy (gas), power and telecoms infrastructure, for the UK’s largest network owners and operators.
  • Social Infrastructure – Our team of Social Infrastructure specialists revitalise homes and communities by carrying out a wide range of work, from retrofit to refurbishment, and maintenance.

Due to sustained growth and increased workload—particularly within our AMP8 framework agreements—we are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager with a strong civil engineering background. This is an excellent opportunity to join our integrated project delivery team and lead complex, multi-disciplinary water and wastewater projects. You will be accountable for the successful end-to-end delivery of projects—ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage the delivery of multiple ongoing projects (up to £10 million in value).
  • Undertake Principal Contractor responsibilities in accordance with CDM 2015 regulations.
  • Lead the implementation of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) procedures across all projects.
  • Conduct regular health and safety site inspections and promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Manage overall project programmes, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Oversee all commercial aspects, including budget management, cost control, and achieving target margins.
  • Provide line management to Site Managers, Engineers, and Site Foremen.
  • Coordinate and manage supply chain partners, resolving issues and driving performance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders; build strong relationships and provide regular updates on project progress.
  • Chair and lead project meetings, ensuring accurate documentation of discussions, actions, and decisions.
  • Manage change control and client expectations through effective communication and risk management.
  • Collaborate with designers to develop practical, cost-effective, and buildable solutions.
  • Mentor and support the professional development of project delivery teams.
  • Ensure all necessary method statements and risk assessments are in place and maintained.
  • Plan and secure resources and materials to meet delivery schedules.

Qualifications:

We’re looking for a confident, proactive, and highly organised individual who brings a passion for delivering quality civil engineering projects. You’ll be an experienced project leader with a strong track record in the water industry, particularly across complex infrastructure and non‑infrastructure works. You’ll have a problem‑solving mindset, excellent interpersonal skills, and the drive to exceed client expectations in everything you do.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree, HND, or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar Project Manager role within the water industry
  • CSCS (Manager Level)
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH or IOSH Managing Safely
  • Temporary Works Coordinator certification
  • Proficient in MS Project or similar planning tools
  • SEATS or Environmental Management training
