United Infrastructure is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our team and manage key Gas Transmission Asset Upgrade projects. This role offers a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with opportunities to work on strategic projects and engage in stakeholder management.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all work is carried out within project requirements and timescales, managing the company’s contractual obligations.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including Risk Register, Issue Register, Daily Log, project schedules, budgets and governance approvals.
- Provide up‑to‑date and accurate reports and presentations highlighting progress and potential risks.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships through effective communication with the client, designers and stakeholders; attend client meetings and events.
- Support project meetings and record minutes accurately.
- In conjunction with the project manager and quantity surveyor, prepare accurate CVRs, achieve and improve target profitability, identify risks and opportunities, and advise on monthly turnover forecasts.
- Promote high standards of health, safety and environmental management by attending meetings, developing plans, ensuring compliance with company procedures, and carrying out SHEQ and quality audits.
- Select and appoint subcontractors based on financial and quality performance; conduct regular reviews to ensure high and safe standards; agree scopes of subcontract packages.
- Travel within the UK to various project sites as required.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in construction, energy or engineering.
- Technical knowledge of gas process systems is advantageous.
- Awareness of commercial management aspects: scope, change and forecasting.
- Working knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and the roles of designer and principal contractor.
- Experience delivering gas projects in a regulated utility environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Full, clean driver’s licence.
