United Infrastructure Power T&D are seeking an experienced and proactive Traffic Management Lead to coordinate and manage all Streetworks activities. This will be primarily site‑based in Alness, Scotland, with flexibility to work from home if required. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that all Streetworks permits, notices, access arrangements, and utility asset records are managed in line with project deadlines and statutory requirements. You will act as a central liaison point between clients, Local Authorities, statutory undertakers, and internal project teams, ensuring operational compliance, minimising penalties, and supporting safe and efficient project delivery.
Purpose of the Role
- Lead the end‑to‑end management of Streetworks activities from application through to close‑out.
- Ensure all utility prints/asset records are obtained, maintained, and updated for tender and live projects.
- Support the project teams in achieving safe, compliant, and high‑quality delivery aligned with UI T&D and client expectations.
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, Local Authorities, and key stakeholders.
- Provide organisational support across document management, project administration, and programme coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the successful implementation, coordination, and maintenance of all Streetworks permits, notices, and asset records for nationwide projects.
- Secure and maintain access to statutory undertakers’ systems and portals.
- Create and maintain a weekly forecast of all live permits and notices, issuing updates to project teams.
- Proactively identify and resolve Streetworks‑related issues to prevent delays, penalties, or compliance breaches.
Project Coordination & Planning
- Assist in resource allocation and help resolve competing project requirements.
- Support the Project Manager in organising, preparing, and maintaining project documentation.
- Produce weekly progress reports and ensure consistent high standards of project programming.
- Facilitate meeting minutes and support overall project administration.
- Ensure lessons learned, best practice, and innovation are captured and shared across the UI T&D business.
Compliance, Quality & SHE
- Work in accordance with company SHE policies and procedures, supporting compliance both on site and in the office.
- Address and elevate any safety or compliance concerns appropriately.
- Maintain accurate and organised filing and document control systems.
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, subcontractors, Local Authorities, and Transmission Network Operators (including SSE).
- Support tender submissions and contribute to the development of win plans for strategic bids.
General Responsibilities
- Undertake office management tasks to support the project environment.
- Be prepared to travel to project sites as required.
- Carry out any additional duties needed to support project and business needs.
Qualifications & Knowledge Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of Streetworks legislation, processes, and Local Authority permit requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve permit/notice issues quickly and proactively.
- Full understanding of statutory undertaker requirements and systems.
- Ability to obtain, manage, and interpret utility asset records for multiple asset owners.
- Commercial and contractual awareness.
- Understanding of SHE requirements in site and office environments.
Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting Overhead Lines and HV Underground Cabling projects, including road access requirements.
- Prior experience liaising with Local Authorities, clients, and subcontractors.
- Good understanding of carriageway works and associated permitting.
- Excellent organisational, time management, and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage competing priorities across project teams.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Financial and commercial understanding related to project activities.
