Overview / Responsibilities
Prepare and manage project correspondence, liaise with clients in the Streetworks department to ensure project requirements are implemented in accordance with timescales required, track all live street works permits and notices and ensure the site teams are free from penalties.
Role and Location
Role will be a site based hybrid role, working from site in Alness, Scotland, and home.
Purpose Of The Role
Be responsible for the management and coordination of all Streetworks activities from application through to close out for each live project. To obtain and renew accordingly all required utility prints/asset records for each project as advised by the project tender or delivery team, and all aspects of development and performance management, ensuring that assigned projects are delivered safely, ensuring high standards are applied in the management and execution of the project documentation whilst aligning to UI T&D & client objectives.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain key relationships with clients.
- Maintain schedules and calendars for Project team/Project Manager, reminders for key project deliverable documentation.
- Set up and maintain project filing systems.
- Undertake office management tasks to support the project task force work environment.
- Liaison with project team to facilitate minutes for meetings.
- Working closely with the Project Manager to organise project documentation.
Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities
- Responsible for the successful implementation and maintenance of all street works and asset records for both tender and live projects nationwide.
- Accountable for the acquisition of any required access to statutory undertaker’s portals.
- Plan and track a forecast for all live permits and notices across all live projects and issue weekly to the project teams.
- Prioritising the assignment of project resources and resolving conflicting requirements to actively seek to improve and optimise project delivery.
- Ensure that performance management ethos and practice is adopted by project delivery teams.
- Achieving a consistent high standard of project programming and producing weekly reports.
- Ensuring the successful resolution of issues and challenges on individual projects as required.
- Providing guidance when necessary.
- To work within established Company policies and procedures to address breaches of the SHE policies or management systems where necessary.
- Ensuring that any lessons learned, and innovation are applied internally within the UI T&D business.
- Assist in the preparation of win plans for strategic bids and tenders.
- Undertake any other duties as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy the needs of the role and project teams.
Qualifications
- Ability to proactively resolve any Streetworks permit/notice issues.
- Strong background and full understanding of all street works processes and procedures for any statutory undertaker.
- Knowledge and ability to obtain all required software to access existing utility records for all asset owners.
- Commercial and Contractual awareness.
- Ability to manage own time and proactively manage the project team.
- Understanding of SHE requirements, in the office and site environments.
- Be prepared to visit site locations if required.
Skills And Experience
- Excellent knowledge of Streetworks and Local Authority permit requirements.
- Experience of managing the requirements for Overhead Lines (road access) and HV Underground Cabling projects inclusive of client and Local Authority expectations.
- Experience of developing and managing good working relationships with client and sub-contractors.
- Experience of working with SSE and other Transmission Network Operators.
- Knowledge and working understanding of carriageway works.
- Knowledge of street works, permit submission and experience in managing council liaison.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent timekeeping and organisation skills, for both yourself and managing the project teams requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Financial and commercial understanding.
