United Infrastructure Transmission & Distribution is recruiting a Site Engineer for an Overhead Lines Project (OHL) in Inverness, Scotland. You will support the team during the enabling works phase of the overhead line sites prior to tower assembly and erection.
Responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day health & safety for staff and subcontractors, and report safety incidents and near‑misses internally and externally.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage foremen and subcontractors; assist the Construction Manager with staff competency and training checks.
- Control costs and monitor the financial status of the project area where applicable.
- Produce method statements, work instructions, and risk assessments.
- Provide the Construction and Project Managers with information for monthly reports and project change control.
- Plan and coordinate resources, including plant, materials, and labour.
- Determine material requirements and liaise with Procurement.
- Communicate with clients, third parties, and stakeholders.
- Collect and collate QA documentation for final records.
- Support the Site Construction Manager in developing target costs.
- Ensure compliance with OHSAS 18001:1999, ISO 9001:2000, and ISO 14001:2004 standards.
Qualifications
- Experience managing health & safety for site staff and subcontractors.
- Strong coordination and leadership skills with foremen and subcontractors.
- Ability to monitor and control project costs.
- Proficiency in preparing method statements, risk assessments, and work instructions.
- Knowledge of reporting requirements for Construction and Project Managers.
- Experience planning and coordinating plant, materials, and labour resources.
- Ability to liaise with Procurement and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with QA documentation processes.
- Understanding of OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.
