Working under delegation and supervision of a registered Nurse/ Midwife, the Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) will undertake defined responsibilities appropriate to their role in the workplace setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with Trust policies, protocols, guidelines, the fifteen standards of the Care Certificate and the national strategy of Compassion in Practice.
- Ensure safe, compassionate and competent care is delivered to our patients and service users at all times.
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct for healthcare support workers and adult social care workers.
- Deliver a high standard of care to our patients in accordance with individualised care needs, utilising flexible, innovative and effective practice.

Successful substantive Healthcare Support Workers will benefit from further training opportunities which form part of the ULHT Nursing Career Development Pathway which can ultimately lead to becoming a Registered Nurse.

Grantham and District Hospital serves the communities of Grantham and the local area, providing ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services.
Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.
This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire.
Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations. The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).
