As part of our growing Digital Commerce Centre of Excellence, we are looking for a Digital Trading Manager to lead e‑commerce trading performance, onsite merchandising strategy, and commercial optimisation across our EU digital channels.

The Role

As Digital Trading Manager, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day commercial performance of the e‑commerce business, owning trading execution, onsite merchandising strategy, and performance optimisation across all EU digital channels. You will act as the bridge between strategic direction and operational execution, translating commercial goals into actionable trading plans and ensuring delivery against revenue, conversion, and margin targets. Working closely with Buying & Merchandising, Digital Marketing, CRM, Content, and Operations teams, you will lead the trading calendar, promotional strategy, and onsite customer experience to drive profitable growth. This is a highly commercial and cross‑functional role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced e‑commerce environment and enjoys combining data‑driven decision making with operational execution.

What You Will Do

  • Digital Trading & Performance Ownership
    • Own daily and weekly trading performance across e‑commerce channels
    • Drive delivery against sales, conversion, AOV, and margin targets
    • Identify risks and opportunities and take proactive actions to optimise performance
    • Lead weekly and monthly trade reporting, providing clear recommendations and actions
    • Monitor and react to trading performance in real time, adapting strategies where needed
  • Trading Calendar, Promotions & Pricing
    • Own and execute the e‑commerce trading calendar across campaigns, launches, and promotional events
    • Plan and deliver promotional activity including discounting, markdowns, and seasonal trading moments
    • Partner with Buying & Merchandising teams to align pricing and promotional strategies
    • Ensure all campaigns are delivered on time, fully tested, and optimised post‑launch
    • Evaluate promotional effectiveness and recommend future improvements
  • Merchandising & Assortment Strategy
    • Define and execute onsite merchandising strategies to optimise product visibility and sell‑through
    • Partner with Buying & Merchandising teams on assortment planning and digital demand insights
    • Ensure optimal product availability, category structure, and navigation across e‑commerce channels
    • Drive stock efficiency through trading insights and planning collaboration
    • Identify opportunities to improve category growth and product performance
  • Customer Journey & Conversion Optimisation
    • Partner with Content and Product teams to deliver a seamless and high‑converting customer journey
    • Work with CRO and UX teams to test and optimise site performance through A/B testing and personalisation
    • Improve key e‑commerce metrics including CVR, AOV, and UPO through data‑driven initiatives
    • Ensure alignment between content, merchandising, and commercial priorities
  • Cross‑Channel Alignment (Marketing & CRM)
    • Collaborate with Performance Marketing teams to align traffic and trading strategies
    • Partner with CRM teams to ensure campaigns support trading priorities and stock availability
    • Ensure promotional, product, and category strategies are aligned across all channels
    • Maintain consistent campaign messaging across onsite, email, and paid media channels
  • Forecasting, Planning & Reporting
    • Build weekly and monthly forecasts aligned with trading performance and marketing plans
    • Support seasonal planning including category phasing and key trading periods
    • Analyse customer behaviour, trading patterns, and product performance
    • Provide actionable insights to improve trading decisions and future planning
    • Support warehouse forecasting and operational readiness during peak periods
  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Manage and develop Digital Trading Coordinators and junior team members
    • Set clear priorities, workflows, and execution standards across the team
    • Lead daily and weekly trading routines including site walks and performance reviews
    • Foster a collaborative, commercially driven, and high‑performing team culture
    • Support career development and progression within the team
  • Site Operations & Trading Excellence
    • Ensure high standards across onsite execution, campaign delivery, and product launches
    • Oversee site QA processes including daily site walks and issue resolution
    • Work closely with E‑commerce Operations and Development teams to resolve issues efficiently
    • Ensure readiness for peak trading periods and major promotional events

Who You Are

We are looking for a commercially driven e‑commerce professional with strong trading instincts, analytical thinking, and a passion for digital customer experience. You are highly organised, proactive, and confident working cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced retail environment. You enjoy combining commercial strategy with operational execution and leading teams to deliver strong results.

Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience within e‑commerce trading, merchandising, or digital commerce
  • Strong commercial mindset with proven ability to drive online sales and performance
  • Experience owning trading calendars, promotions, and onsite merchandising strategies
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using GA4, Shopify, or similar e‑commerce platforms
  • Experience working cross‑functionally with Marketing, CRM, Buying, and Content teams
  • Strong forecasting, planning, and reporting capability
  • Previous experience managing or mentoring team members
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
