We are seeking a highly adaptable Technology Specialist with exceptional technical problem‑solving skills. The ideal candidate will be confident working independently, take ownership of projects, and communicate effectively with educational professionals at all levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Implementation: Support local IT teams in delivering technically challenging, medium‑scale projects, including procurement and rollout of IT systems.
  • Technical Audits: Conduct audits of key IT systems and processes, identifying risks and opportunities to enhance school operations.
  • Problem Solving: Challenge and advise local IT and school management to implement effective solutions for identified issues.
  • IT Estate Planning: Contribute to IT estate refresh planning, supporting schools to budget and plan for an effective technology infrastructure.
  • Training and Development: Provide guidance and training to local IT staff, helping to build capacity and capability.
  • Crisis Management: Offer short‑term specialist support during IT incidents or crises, ensuring minimal disruption to school operations.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven experience in an IT support or technical role; experience in a school or educational context is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong technical problem‑solving skills and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
Working Arrangements

This is a field‑based role, supporting schools’ local IT teams with projects, audits, and problem‑solving. You will work as part of a team of six field‑based specialists covering South East England, including Kent, Surrey, East Sussex, West Sussex, and Greater London (southern). National projects may also be included depending on skill set. The postholder can be based anywhere that effectively serves this region. This role is offered on an 18‑month fixed‑term contract.
