The Role
Our Professional Development Team designs and delivers development programmes for teachers, leaders and support staff within schools, as well as creating resources and facilitating practice sharing across our group of schools.
As our offer grows, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join the team as a Project Lead. You will be a highly motivated individual with a desire to lead projects that directly improve the professional experience of teachers and support staff, and that benefit the children and young people in United Learning schools.
In this role, you will work alongside high performing colleagues in a supportive team to deliver projects with a national reach.
As Project Lead, you will have a core focus on:
- Professional development for teachers and education support staff
- Empowering and developing CPD Leaders in schools
- Improving the line management and performance development experience of school staff
The role requires strong problem solving and communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Curiosity, creativity and persistence are all valuable attributes in a successful Project Lead. You will also need to demonstrate that you are organised and can work to strict timelines without compromising on service quality or the standard of development opportunities that are delivered to United Learning colleagues.
About You
The person successful in this role will have:
- Experience of leading teacher development or teaching and learning at school or Trust level.
- Knowledge of the education sector and understanding of the strategic challenges faced by schools in their day-to-day operation.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to understand and explain complex ideas.
- Ability to manage competing priorities to challenging timescales, and to work autonomously.
- Ability to understand, analyse and interpret a range of information sources.
- Ability to problem solve, innovate and persist to achieve results.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including specialists in their field.
- An intellectual curiosity, openness to learning and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to engage peers and develop credibility working with senior leaders.
- Passion and commitment to improving the lives of young people.
- Technical capability with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience of successfully delivering projects as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Instructional Coaching.
- Experience of using other software packages such as a Learning Management System, Adobe and video editing technology to deliver projects.
- Relevant qualification: National Professional Qualification in Leading Teacher Development (NPQLTD) or National Professional Qualification in Leading Teaching (NPQLT).

Further information
This role can be based at either our London or Peterborough office, with travel to other offices and schools required, on occasion.
