Overall Job Purpose: To be responsible for delivering, maintaining, and supporting technology across the four Midlands Cluster schools and Central Support Services. Managing the staff within the ICT team, including their activity, performance, and development. Ensuring that technology is effective in supporting the raising of educational standards across the Trust.
Key responsibilities:
- Overall management responsibility for the performance of ICT Service staff across the four Midland Cluster schools, maintaining a clear overview of the deployment, skillset, capability, capacity and development needs of the team.
- Support, maintain and develop all IT hardware and software resources used by the Midland Cluster schools.
- Liaise with each school Senior Leadership Team to support and deliver their Digital Strategy.
- Manage the Helpdesk, ensuring requests are dealt with efficiently and effectively, balancing operational imperatives with strategic activities.
- Provide leaders with strategic guidance on how technology systems should be developed to support their educational aims.
- Develop existing systems, designing, and implementing new systems and associated technologies across Midland Cluster schools, to ensure ongoing affordability and fitness for purpose.
- Manage the allocated IT operational and capital budgets, observing financial management processes.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date hardware asset register which is used to inform IT refresh and development strategies, in line with the annual budget cycle.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date software register, including license details, renewal dates and costs, which is used to inform annual budget requirements.
- Develop and maintain system documentation to an appropriate level, including a full network and server topography, to support future development, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity.
- Develop and implement effective backup strategies sufficient to ensure legal and operational requirements are met.
- Develop and implement IT related policies as requested.
