Job description

Job Purpose: To assist the Examinations Officer in the smooth running of all examinations.

Responsibilities:

  1. To ensure the fair and proper conduct of examinations in an environment that enables a pupil to perform at their best.
  2. To support the Data and Exam Manager with the day-to-day operation of exam venues.
  3. Assisting with setting up exam venues by laying out stationery, equipment, and exam papers in accordance with strict procedures.
  4. Closely following and enforcing exam procedures and regulations.
  5. Assist pupils before the exam starts by directing them to their seats and advising them about possessions permitted in the venue.
  6. Ensure that pupils do not talk once inside the exam venue.
  7. Invigilate during exams, dealing with queries raised by pupils and exam irregularities in accordance with procedures.
  8. Check attendance during exams.
  9. Record details of late arrivals and early leavers and collect their papers.
  10. Escort pupils from venues during the exam as required and supervise pupils outside the exam venue.
  11. Escort pupils on toilet breaks to ensure no unauthorised material is consulted and that exam regulations are observed at all times.
  12. Collect and deliver all papers at the end of the exam in accordance with strict procedures.
  13. Supervise pupils leaving exam venues, ensuring that no-one removes equipment or stationery from the venue without authorisation.
  14. Ensure that candidates leave the venue in a quiet and orderly manner.
  15. Supervise pupils when clashes occur in their exam timetable.
