Nova Hreod Academy is seeking a hardworking and enthusiastic individual to provide confidential, high-quality, timely clerking and support to the LGB within the United Learning Swindon Cluster Schools.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the efficient administration of local governance
  • Setting an annual meeting schedule for the LGB in conjunction with the Chair and Principal
  • Using the Management Information System (MIS) to deliver all agendas, papers, and minutes to the LGB
  • Preparing agendas for all meetings in accordance with the United Learning Agenda Planner and any variations
  • Producing and circulating papers for meetings, including Committee meetings, at least seven days prior
  • Attending and accurately minuting all formal meetings of the LGB and Committees, delivering minutes within seven days
  • Liaising with the Chair on the production and content of minutes, ensuring they record attendance, discussions, decisions, and actions

Hours: Approximately 130 hours during term time, including at least 10 evening meetings.

About You: You are well-organised, able to work to deadlines, flexible, and professional in handling confidential material. You communicate confidently at all levels.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Good educational background with excellent listening, communication, and writing skills
  • Proficiency in ICT, including Microsoft Office
  • Experience in taking accurate minutes, preferably in school governance or a corporate environment
  • Knowledge of Ofsted requirements for Governing Bodies
