United Learning is a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England. Central Office staff work closely with schools, offering a wealth of expertise to underpin schools' own knowledge. Our specialist departments, including HR, finance, technology, strategy and performance, estates, and marketing, work alongside dedicated school improvement teams. By joining us, you will provide ongoing support to schools, ultimately improving the outcomes of our pupils.

About the role

Apprenticeships are a vital part of our strategy for recruiting, retaining, and developing talent across the education sector. As an accredited provider since 2021, we are proud to deliver apprenticeships to all schools for support staff to thrive. You will be leading the programme and responsible for all aspects of its design and delivery. You will be the go to person about all things teaching assistants and you’ll always want to make something that you did today, better tomorrow. You’ll lead the way by being the expert, using an evidence-based approach and have bags of professional curiosity. Teaching will be delivered primarily online, with a couple of face‑to‑face training days built into the programme to support practical learning and connection. This role is home‑based with occasional travel to our offices and schools when required.

Role requirements

  • Must have: Occupationally competent evidenced by a Level 3 qualification or higher, work experience, or experience of the delivery and assessment
  • Work experience should be above 5 years
  • Hold Level 2 English and maths qualifications, GCSE, A Level or Functional Skills L2
  • Hold a HLTA qualification
  • Hold a degree in relevant subject area
  • Hold a teaching qualification (PGCE, AET, CET, DET, DiT or equivalent)
  • Hold an assessor qualification (A1, D32/D33, CAVA, TAQA)
  • Hold an IQA qualification (V1, TAQA L4)
  • Hold QTS or QTLS

United Learning Apprenticeships is graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted following its latest inspection in January 2024. Inspectors rated the provider as Good in all areas.
