Purpose of the Role
To work within the Specialist Surface Treatments division as part of one of the Process Teams delivering various In-situ Recycling Treatments Solutions to multiple clients. To ensure the works are completed safely and to the required quality standards. This involves working at various locations within the UK, including every other weekend during the main season. Mobile accommodation shall be organised/provided by Colas and subsistence payment made.
Main Responsibilities
- To safely carry out Highway repairs and improvements using various In-situ Recycling Treatments.
- To apply and abide by Health & Safety at Work Act, Road Traffic Act and apply safe methods of working to all activities.
- To understand and follow procedures relating to Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
- To understand and follow procedures relating to Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome regulations (HAVS).
- To drive an HGV vehicle within the confines of The Road Traffic Act.
- To operate machinery as required and directed by the foreman.
- Install/Remove Traffic Management as required.
- Prepare roads for Surface Treatment including protection of Iron work.
- To be available to work away from home on a one weekend on one off basis, no bank holiday working.
- To carry out other appropriate duties as assigned by the Foreman/Supervisor.
Ideal Candidates Essentials:
- A valid UK driving licence with LGV 2 (LGV 1 desirable), minimum 2 yearsβ driving experience, CPC, Traffic Management T1/T2, Banksman, Manual Handling and Emergency First Aid.
- CSCS, NRSWA and an NVQ in Recycling are desirable.
- On-the-job training and a one-day Health & Safety Awareness course will be provided.
- You must be safety-focused, physically fit, flexible, able to communicate well, work as part of a team or with minimal supervision, and willing to work away from home sharing provided accommodation.
