Overview
In this Senior Accountant role at UKNNL you lead a finance team to provide timely, insightful financial analysis and planning for the supported area. You will monitor performance against targets, advise on financial implications of business decisions, and drive risk management and continuous improvements. You’ll partner with operations to deliver target performance and support a mission-driven, innovative organisation in the nuclear sector. Responsibilities
- Coordinate timely financial analysis to monitor performance against targets across a team of accountants
- Lead financial planning across multiple horizons and budget holders
- Deliver cost centre / management accounting services for the area
- Partner with operations to identify and manage risks and opportunities
- Implement action plans to achieve target performance
- Drive continuous improvement within the function and area
- Provide technical accounting guidance and ensure policy compliance
- Manage and develop a team of accountants while supporting professional qualifications
Key requirements
- Demonstrable experience providing financial support to operational managers
- Strong knowledge of operational and commercial finance
- Experience using large ERP systems (Unit 4 Business World is a bonus)
- Advanced use of Excel
- Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (UK residency and checks)
