In this role you lead the delivery of complex digital services at scale within HMRC’s Chief Digital Information Office. You’ll shape delivery approaches, manage risks and dependencies, and act as a primary escalation point to keep streams moving. You work with senior stakeholders to align delivery strategy and improve outcomes. Responsibilities
- Lead Agile delivery across multiple complex product and platform teams
- Act as the primary escalation point for delivery risks, issues and dependencies
- Optimise delivery flow by identifying and removing systemic blockers
- Coach and mentor Delivery Managers and multidisciplinary teams
- Shape and tailor Agile delivery approaches to suit context and complexity
- Influence senior stakeholders to improve delivery confidence and outcomes
- Drive continuous improvement in delivery practices, performance and capability
- Support governance of platform technical health, reliability and sustainability
Key requirements
- Proven experience leading Agile delivery across multiple teams in complex, high-risk digital environments
- Experience managing cross-team dependencies, risks and competing priorities
- Evidence of improving delivery performance or flow (e.g. removing blockers, improving throughput, stabilising services)
- Strong experience coaching and developing Delivery Managers and teams
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage difficult delivery trade-offs
- Strong organisational judgement and decision-making capability
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-changing, high-pressure or ambiguous environments
