Overview

In this role you will lead the day-to-day service delivery at Heathrow Immigration Removal Centres, ensuring safe, secure and humane conditions while supporting Home Office priorities.

You will work with commercial, property, and programme teams to drive contract delivery and improvements in a fast-paced, high-profile environment.

You will manage a team, oversee governance and assurance activities, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to enable effective detainee care and national coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations and reactive issues at the Heathrow IRCs, aligning with returns priorities and humane detention standards.
  • Lead a risk-based assurance programme, monitoring contract performance, compliance, and driving improvements.
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Property Services, programme teams and providers to support contract delivery and mobilisation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners across operational, healthcare and contracted providers to enable joined-up detainee care.
  • Lead and develop the on-site team, ensuring clear direction and a one-team ethos.
  • Implement audit/inspection recommendations through action plans.
  • Provide timely, site-specific information for litigation, FOIs, external inquiries and senior reporting.
  • Participate in on-call duties and regular on-site presence as per hybrid working expectations.
  • Oversee site governance, residents management, site expansion, incident learning, reporting, risk registers and key partner relationships at Heathrow IRCs.

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under pressure to tight deadlines.
